In 2019, Grupo Futuro companies achieved carbon neutrality and invested in different strategies previously identified to reduce their footprint. The success we achieved motivates us to grow and invite other companies to participate in our high integrity carbon offset program, in compliance with the highest standards existing worldwide.
Under the scheme of the Carbon Neutral Flows Trust, the “Carbono Cero” program has managed to offset 36,435.46 tons CO2eq, in 6,666 hectares of forest, with an investment of USD $582,967.30 until 2022, with the participation of more than a dozen companies, and we continue to grow.
Our goal is to conserve a total of 5,000 hectares each year in the Mashpi-Tayra Reserve in the Chocó Andino of Pichincha and connect it to larger biodiversity hotspots with 22,000 hectares of ecological connectivity areas. Therefore, we seek to consolidate a conservation area large enough to ensure the long-term health and well-being of all species within it. Let us reach this goal together!
