RESERVES
mashpi - tayra
Our commitment to sustainability for future generations begins with these two reserves that constitute a single body, currently reaching 3,017 hectares in the Andean Chocó of Pichincha.
Fundación Futuro aims to promote the conservation of 5,000 hectares, to ensure the health and well-being of all species within it. As well as the financing of approximately 22,600 hectares of forest remnants, in collaboration with more than 750 small landowners in the area.

RESERVES
Yanacocha - Forest Reserve
The Yanacocha Reserve is a sanctuary of life in the heights of the Andes. This reserve was established to protect the Black-breasted Puffleg (Eriocnemis nigrivestis), a hummingbird on the brink of extinction, which has found refuge in this space. Here, among the Andean cloud forest and the páramo, spectacled bears, pumas, and more than 50 species of hummingbirds fill the air with their magic.
Every tree planted, every hectare protected, represents a commitment to the future—not only for these species but also for the water that sustains Quito. Its conservation is crucial for soil stability and the city’s water supply. Since its establishment in 2001, over 10,000 native species have been planted to enrich this habitat. Yanacocha is more than a reserve; it is a living hope for nature and future generations.
